We're off to hire a bookkeeper

Hiring a bookkeeper is not like buying an item from a shop. You can’t add me to your basket, check out and *poof* I appear in your life to make your accounting easier! Wouldn’t it be awesome if it did work like that though? That’s not to say it’s a complicated process. Simply follow the steps below and we’ll all end up in Kansas together:

  1. Get in touch

I would love to have telepathic bookkeeping abilities that meant I could sense when a business needs my help but unfortunately I haven’t quite developed them to that stage yet. So I’m afraid you will need to make the first move on this one and drop me a message. You can email me at helen@ellevanbookkeeping.co.uk, use the contact form on the website here, call or text me on 07340 572 791, or send me a message on my Facebook page.

  1. Video call

Part of Anti Money Laundering regulations requires that I meet you. I find the easiest way to do this is via a video call. It also means you can show me your current bookkeeping system (nowt to be embarrassed about here, it’s just so I can get an idea of how much work will be involved). We will also use this time to discuss a monthly cost. If you haven’t done so already, check out my pricing page here to get a rough idea of what to expect.

  1. Complete paperwork

Again, part of Anti Money Laundering regulations requires that I gather some information about yourself and your business. After we’ve had the video call I’ll pop over my paperwork for you to complete. It’s nothing too scary! You just need to read through my terms so you understand what I will be doing for you, complete the information sheet and return everything to me with your proof of ID.

  1. Add me to your software

If you’re already set up on Xero your next task is to add me as a user in your organisation. This allows me access to your accounting records to enable me to do my job! For Xero you need to add me as an advisor user. If you’re not set up on software yet, don’t worry as I’ll get it sorted for you.

Once I’m in your software, that’s it! 4 steps and your bookkeeping headache is no more! Did we make it to Kansas together?
